Preview Play Opening - Date ConfirmedThe General Committee met last night and agreed unanimously that it was in the best interest of the course and membership that, due to our slow spring growth, our opening for preview play be delayed until 31 January 2026. This decision will allow the course to further establish through the beginning of summer and ease the pressure it will inevitably be under through to the 2026 growth season. This decision was made far easier with the significant support of members who have been advising us not to open too early. The Committee thank the membership for this support and understanding that we cannot control mother nature. The delay will not have a financial impact on our operations as losses in revenues are matched by savings. We remain on budget for the year end. Member Gala Evening - Date ChangeTo further align with this date, and a period of preview play, the decision has been made to delay the Members Gala Evening to officially open the course until 28 March 2026. As previously advised, the day will include some competition, special guests and a lovely evening with fellow members celebrating the opening of the course - please lock this new date away in your diary (and delete the February date!). Eastern Chipping AreaOn an exciting note, we are pleased to be able to announce that the eastern chipping green will be opening on 1 December 2025. As with the the rest of the course, this area is still young, so ensure you follow (as always) proper etiquette. Please take extra care to enter and exit bunkers at their lowest point, and repair any pitch marks you may make. The same normal rules apply to this area as prior to its closure (i.e. HGC practice balls may not be used and there is an eight ball maximum limit at any one time to ensure the area is shared). Members are reminded not to go any further than this chipping area, the course is not open to walk on. Other News - Course rating for Slope underwayLast Thursday the team from Golf Australia walked the course and took measurements to officially assess the course scratch and bogey rating from each teeing area for all genders which will determine the Slope rating. We look forward to being able to share an official scorecard with members in the near future. Cranbourne Tee Times - Huntingdale access increasesFor tee times on 8 December onwards at Cranbourne, Members will have access to more times at Cranbourne on Saturdays, Sundays and Wednesdays. All tee spots on these days will be open on the time sheet eight days prior at 10am, except Sunday's which will be 9 days prior at 11am, (the remaining members left at CGC will have 9 days booking access, however CGC anticipates 190 times will be available for us, as opposed to the 60 we currently have reserved). |
