Welcome to Our New President Nick Harvey

At the Annual General Meeting on 26 November, the Club welcomed in a new President with Nick Harvey taking over from Malcolm Hutson.  Nick has been a member for 21 years and has served on the General Committee since 2021.  Malcolm finishes up his time having served on the General Committee from 2018 and as President from 2022-2025.

Please welcome Nick Harvey the new President of the Club and extend your thanks to Malcolm for his time serving the Club.

AGM Summary

Members were welcomed to the AGM and were provided an update on the year by Captain Greg Smith.  Treasurer, Mark Bisset then took those in attendance through the Treasurer's Report and updated the Membership on our financial progress this year.  His presentation advised the Membership that the Club is in a solid financial position.  He also advised that the final payment from Cranbourne ($7 million) has been received.

As detailed above, Nick Harvey was welcomed as the new President of the Club, while Peter Quattro and Adam Bellgrove were noted as incoming Committee Appointees.  Malcolm Hutson was thanked for his time as President which was endorsed by the Membership with acclamation.

November's Wine & Dine took place following the AGM, with over 120 members and guests in attendance

Course Walk

After a bleak morning the weather played out nicely for the course walk with OCM's Mike Cocking, which over 110 members attended with great excitement.  He showed them around the southern end of the property touring the 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th, 8th, 9th and 10th holes.

Members adulation at what they saw was effusive and the pride of the membership shone through to the spirit that the AGM was held in and the following wine dinner.  What a great day at the Club!

All tee spots on these days will be open on the time sheet 8 days prior at 10am, except Sunday's which will be 9 days prior at 11am. The remaining members left at CGC will have 9 days booking access, however CGC anticipates 190 times will be available for us, as opposed to the 60 we currently have reserved.

Golf Shop Reopening

The Golf Shop reopened on Wednesday 26 November to much fanfare.

The space has been reimagined by the team at Transform Golf Shop Specialists and will do wonders for elevating the experience for members and their guests.

Be sure to make a point of checking out the new space next time you are at the Club.

Please be reminded of the following rules for the eastern chipping area:

  • Play from the grassed area within the paths
  • 8 balls MAXIMUM to be used (players must use their own balls - not practice balls)
  • Balls must be removed from green at completion of each rotation of shots
  • No putting allowed
  • Bunker play to be in the direction away from players
  • Please do not walk up the faces of bunkers
  • Rake bunkers at completion of practice
  • Repair all divots

Practice Range Balls

Members will be aware of the one bucket limit that has been in place while the practice fairway was hand picked only.  As the range picker is now allowed on the area, buckets of balls in addition to the one free bucket can now be purchased.  A small bucket will be $5 and a large bucket is $10. Updated operating hours of the practice fairway are also under review and will be advised in the coming weeks.

Building Works

Plenty of work continues at the Club as some projects continue, others are completed, while other additional ones are being planned and are set to commence.  Keep reading for the latest information on the status of these projects.

Course Toilet

The build of the course toilet continues to progress well, and now that slab and septic tank works are complete, will start to come together very quickly.

Ramp Expansion

The decision has been made to expand the ramp across to the concrete slab on the left of the photo.  This will further enhance the experience and flow in the Golf Shop area.  Work here will commence on Monday.
