Course Closure - Spraying
(Including all practice areas)

Monday and Tuesday (13 - 14 October)

Please note that the Practice Fairway and Putting Greens will be closed on Monday 13 October and Tuesday 14 October as important maintenance and spraying are completed in the area.

The closure is necessary as the chemical being sprayed can be tracked into areas such as greens and native areas etc, which can severely harm those areas.

Golf Shop Relocation

From Monday 13 October, the Golf Shop will move to operate and distribute range balls from the reception desk.  This will allow for works to be completed both internally in the Clubhouse Library, and outside in the sunken garden.

Golf Shop Building Works

Golf Shop building works have contnued to progress in a timely fashion.  A lots of prep work has been done this week in anticipation of the timber beams being installed.  Painting on the front side of the shop has also commenced for completion prior to the install of the large beams.

A summary of works completed since the last update is below:

Timber Battens

The installation of timber battens has commenced along the cart staging area.  These will tie in with the existing timber on the cart storage area and will continue a round the bottom of the Golf Shop area.

Getting there - when finished, the new and existing battens will be painted to match the Golf Shop colour

Sliding Gate

Framing for the gate and screening below the Golf Shop has continued.  This area will not only tidy up the exterior look of the shop, but also improve the area for back of house operations.

Framing complete and ready for continuation of the install of the timber screening.  This entire area will also be painted to match the rest of the Golf Shop

Electric Shutters

Electric shutters were installed on Tuesday afternoon.  Following the removal of the old shutters earlier in the project, these are more in line with the look of the Clubhouse.  Following the installation of the beams, the top will be hidden.

Timber Posts

Prep work continued prior to the installation of the timber beams.  The cutouts were done and will allow for seamless installation onto the anchors when the time comes.

Volunteers Required - Poa Dabbing Day

Despite the temperature starting to warm up, winter grass is still active - we’re calling for volunteers to help dab poa and protect our young couch surfaces.

This hands-on approach avoids broad spraying and gives the turf its best chance to thrive.

Please register your availability to assist by booking via the button below.

Thursday 23 October - 8:00am start | Thank you lunch to follow - what a great opportunity to see some of the course!

Course Photos

Weather has started to warm, the first stage of growth has started to occur in the fairways (grass greening up).  Second stage growth (the roots starting to run) is yet to occur, this is the critical stage for grow in. This occurs when the soil temperature (not air temperature) is around 22*C .

Photographer, Henry Peters was out earlier in the week capturing some of the incredible work that has taken place thus far.

From Golf Australia

Public Liability Insurance

Golf Australia has appointed leading insurer HDI Global SE, Australia and DXC as the official insurer and claims handler for the Players Liability Insurance Policy.  Importantly, this transition will ensure the current level of coverage for members will remain unchanged, while improving the claims process with the addition of a simple online claims form.

As announced in July, in conjunction with our broker Marsh, Golf Australia conducted a global insurance market review to identify leading providers that would meet the industry requirements for our Insurer and Claims Management partner, with a clear aim of enhancing the claims experience for any member requiring coverage under the policy. This process was critical to preserve the long-term viability of the policy ensuring we could continue to provide coverage to the 450,000 plus affiliated golf club members in the event of causing serious injury to a third party as per the original intent of the policy.

Policy Coverage: The existing policy terms will transfer to the new provider. As a reminder, the following outlines how the policy will continue to operate in practice:

  • Personal Injury Claims – Typically, this is where an affiliated golf club member hits a golf ball that causes injury to another person. For these claims, no excess applies.
  • Property Damage Claims – Typically, this is where an affiliated golf club member hits a golf ball that causes damage to a neighbouring property or motor vehicle.  For these claims, a $1,000 excess applies.
  • Exclusions – The policy excludes any claim in connection with third party property damage to Golf Carts and Personal Electronic Devices. Typically, this is where an affiliated golf club member collides into another golf cart or causes damage to another person’s Electronic Device.  Please note, if a member collides into a person causing personal injury or other property while in a golf cart (e.g. Car), then this would be covered.

Claims Process: All claims will now be able to be submitted via this new digital form, allowing for a simplified process for both clubs and members, and faster response times to member claims with a professional dedicated claims team who understand the needs of our members.

Any claims which may be inadvertently submitted by a club to the old provider, Sportscover, after October 1 will be forwarded to the new provider.
